General & Laparoscopic Surgery

Overview

General Surgery is a broad field that includes procedures such as gall bladder removal, appendectomy, hernia repair, varicose veins, diabetic foot. Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive technique that uses small incisions and specialised instruments for accessing the inside of body. At Aykai Hospital, we offer general & laparoscopic surgery for a wide range of conditions.

Close to 14 million laparoscopic surgeries are performed globally every year, which indicates an inherent trust that patients have developed for modern-day, minimally invasive surgical procedures. Today, general and laparoscopic surgery is pushing the boundaries of delivering quick, painless, and decisive treatment for common conditions like gall bladder, thyroid, parathyroid, anorectal disorders, appendix, hernia, gastrointestinal diseases, etc.

For millions of patients, laparoscopic surgery is one of the most minimally invasive ways to recover from complex health issues without the fear of large incisions, scarring, lengthy hospitalization, or major pain.

Laparoscopy enables surgeons to make keyhole incisions in a patient’s body cavity and insert a telescope with a video camera at the end. As a result, the surgeons can view various internal organs on the TV monitor and perform surgery with its aid. Due to such minimally invasive techniques, the patients recover much faster and are up on their feet within a few hours after surgery.

Our specialists, with decades of experience in minimally invasive techniques offer patients the best possible surgical treatment options that minimize discomfort, hospital stay, immobilization, incisions, and recovery time. We specialize in advanced laparoscopy using state-of-the-art tools for most major clinical conditions involving gall bladder, thyroid, hernia, appendix, pancreas, adrenal glands, spleen, kidneys, and the liver, with excellence in endosurgery, hernia, metabolic and bariatric surgery (weight reduction surgery).

We have fully equipped 24 hrs Trauma centre for dealing all kinds of emergencies, accidents

Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed far from their site through small incisions. Laparoscopic procedures are typically associated with less pain and scarring and a quicker return to normal activities than open surgeries, which involve larger incisions. It is usually performed using general anesthesia, which means you’ll be asleep during the procedure. A surgeon makes several small incisions in your abdomen and inserts long, thin instruments through the incisions. The surgeon views your abdominal cavity on a video monitor while operating. During laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon may remove your gallbladder, appendix, or a piece of your intestine. The surgeon may also repair damage to your abdominal organs, such as repairing a hiatal hernia.
